The Story Behind The Product

All of the visuals you see below were created by Timo Ramli, son of the knife maker, Amborsius Ramli. Timo was the translator, guide, and above all, friend in many of TracingThought’s Borneo based videos. He guided me, taught me, and introduced me to villagers far and wide to make sure TracingThought received accurate information. Timo’s father, who’s occupation is a traditional rubber tapper, occasionally makes knives to sell to members of his community. He made one for me while I lived in their house for two weeks. I saw the knife and fell in love. I then asked him to make a few more so I could sell them to you and to help return a favor to their wonderful family.

100% of these proceeds go to Timo and his father, Amborsius Ramli.

Ini bukan hanya sekedar proses pembuatan parang tetapi lebih kepada dokumentasi tentang ayahku sendiri. Semoga kelak menjadi kenangan yang tak terlupakan tentang beliau. Semoga bermanfaat. Selamat menonton.
This is not just a machete making process but rather a documentation of my own father. Maybe someday these will become unforgettable memories about him. May it be useful.
Enjoy watching!

Minute 00:00 - 01:14 is about how to open, close, and tie your knife.

Minute 01:26:23 - end is about how to clean and sharpen the knife.
