Creator’s Ambitions

There is always some type of DL the author should share…

Some may call this the “Foreword” or “Intro” but I’ll just call it the “Down Low”. If you like it, then I know you speak my language! I’ll never forget waking up at midnight, getting on a motorbike and driving alone for hours in the pitch-black mountains of Bali. All to hop on a local fishing boat with a 62-year-old Balinese villager, and to hear him tell his story. I want you to know the immense love and pain behind the lens. I want you to feel the feelings I myself never imagined I could feel. This blog is my side of the ride. This is a "no-frills", first-hand account of my journalistic experience. My personal thoughts and opinions are never in my videos (youtube.com/ tracingthought) but, you will, however, find them here. I am going to showcase the adventure it is being a one-woman show and what it’s like being a visual journalist traveling the world solo.

My mission:

To talk about and show more than what’s on the surface of human interaction, culture, and generational change.

These blog articles will all be written in the first-person point of view (for the most part).

Hello and welcome curious mind, to the tangled nest of fleeting images and burned-in memories inside my head.

My Daily Ritualistic Mantra to Myself

Stay cheap. Try to spend the least amount of money possible. Always ensure sufficient funds to cover emergency situations, transportation, equipment maintenance, and any unplanned wild opportunities. Always be ready and able to do what you need to do, to record the truth. And don’t forget to keep up with your travel insurance because- health!

“Provide an outlet for truth and unbiased journalism.”

To better understand the world, TracingThought thrives on the energy of environmentally conscious stories, unique lifestyles, and conflict zones before and after the impact.

Give others a voice through your lens. The mother who lost a daughter during land conflict, the farmer who lost his land from palm oil, the Sikh who is seen as a terrorist because of his turban. We all need to hear these stories. Believe in the voice of the people.

Follow along with me as I strive to get a deeper understanding of the world around me. It is so easy to see every day as just another day. Remember to place yourself in the shoes of a stranger. Think about what they are going through and the struggles that have shaped them. Trace all of your thoughts until you’ve seen every side of the question and then undoubtedly you’ll know the answer.

I’ll post the footage to TracingThought’s YouTube, write out the facts in “Facts of the Film”, and give my personal point of view in “Creators Thoughts”. The beauty of Tracing Thought is, you are the one that matters, the reader, the one digesting this information. Take what I am giving to you, and form your own opinions.
